2001 Tahoe rear AC system problems
There is some sort of short in the rear AC system in my Tahoe. Once in awhile it works briefly after hitting a bump, but for the most part, it does not. Any ideas on how to fix this? The front AC works fine...

Fairly dead thread, however....
The squirrel cage back there is katty wompus, the plastic gets hot, and the fan sticks to the housing that it's in.
It's easy to remove, and you can see that it will work fine when you take it out.
I've shaved mine down a few times now with a dremel. Gives me about a year each time.
I need a new one now though. That's why I'm here.
Anyone have a part number for the rear squirrel cage fan?
Any other suggestions on how to fix this?

Got back into it last night, and found another part of the problem.
There is a foam tape that separates the fan motor mount from the housing it's screwed into. Foam gets played out / compressed, fan goes too deep in the housing, fan contacts housing heats up and melts together. No more spinning.
I cut the back lip out of the housing, and added some more foam tape to keep better separation.
It works!

Where is this "squirrel cage" fan located at? I have the same problem.
