Default high beams don't work

how can i find out why my high beams don't work. when i pull back on the lever it doesn't do anything. sometimes one of the turn signals will turn on.

It sounds like a bad multifunction switch.

do you know if i could bypass the switch and just hook it up to a toggle switch

You really need to replace the MF switch. I don't recommend bypassing it.

I had the same problem, the switch stopped working completely, but after I had the ignition cylinder replaces,, the mechanic also seemed to repaire the switch.

so...if i have tilt steering....but do not care for the cruise control... am i able to replace the lever and switch with non tilt parts....same year and make?
