Default Late 60's 250 Straight Six Performance Parts?

Hey guys, I just got my first car a little over a week ago. It's a 1969 Buick Special Deluxe with a Chevy 250ci straight six and 3 speed. I'm coming here because the guys at the buick forums weren't of much help on a chevy engine. I really want to hop it up and the first things I thought were exhaust and intake. This version of the straight six has separate manifolds because I know the later ones had a combined single manifold. I have an idea on what to do. I want to get headers and run dual exhaust out the back and I was hoping to get either dual 2-barrels or a single quad along with the new intake manifold. How would both of these affect my mpgs/hp gain? And how would I know what carbs would fit what? Do all GM's of the same type (single, 2 barrel, 4 barrel) and time fit each other or what? The last thing is how do I know if I'll drown the engine or not? Its just got a single 1-barrel Rochester on it right now I believe

I was looking at getting...
Intake - http://www.stoveboltengineco.com/aca...?productid=106
2 Carbs - http://www.stoveboltengineco.com/aca...?productid=178
2 Adapters for 1-barrel to 2-barrel - http://www.stoveboltengineco.com/aca...?productid=174
Linkages - http://www.stoveboltengineco.com/aca...?productid=181

Headers (what type of stuff would I need after the headers?) -http://www.stoveboltengineco.com/acartpro/product.asp?productid=171

Would I need anything else and would this be worth it? Thanks

I have just picked up a '67 250 and I have seen these engines really pushing some serious power. Check out the website Clifford6=8 for the headers and intake you are looking for. Plus they have cams as well but it depends how far you want to go, Good luck
