I have a 2003 Chevy Suburban K1500 LT Z71 with Automatic/Auto (not manual) A/C, and the Air Output from the A/C is stuck in the defrost mode. I need the Actuator that controls that function to be replaced. I'd like to do this myself, but, I need to have a Diagram/picture of the Dash Layout, showing exactly where it is located. It's the one that controls the air flow from the Defrost outlets, to the Dash outlets.

Does anyone know of an internet link, where I can see a drawing of components behind the Dash, and where in this Actuator is located ?

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for several minutes, reconnecting and then letting the actuator self learn? ( I know this applies for the NBS but it may also work on the previous model)

I also need to see one. I just ordered a new Actuator and want to replace it myself but need to know where to put it, lol.

If GM printed it from 1982 on, they've got it--manuals, diagrams, TSB's, you name it.

No, I never found anything. I was going to DIY it, but the hot weather got the best of me, and I just took it to a Shop and had them do it.

You are welcome. I replaced my mode actuator and my ac has worked fine since then(fingers crossed). It does take a bit of work and you have to keep working at it to get the old one off, and the new one in. Patience is the key. It helped to remove the knee bolster to allow a better look at everything before you start. Be sure to follow Sparky's directions exactly to reset the HVAC system after installation. His website has other good video tutorials as well.
